Senior Research Scientist : Immunology
Location: Diepenbeek, Belgium
Apitope now has an exciting opportunity in our subsidiary in Hasselt for an experienced and talented Immunologist to join the research team and progress several discovery programmes. The candidate must have a strong understanding of immunology, tolerance induction and experience with relevant models of autoimmune disease or allergies. He/She initiates, directs and executes scientific R&D that is critical to corporate strategy and contributes to the development of principles, theories and concepts. The candidate investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions, projects and problems. He/She provides leadership on the practical realisation of the experiments including the experimental design and data evaluation adhering to timelines and agreed quality standards. Proper documentation of results and report writing are part of the job. The applicant will be responsible for the selection of the most competitive technical approaches and for introduction of new technology enhancements into the research area. The successful candidate will act as contact point for senior management regarding technical and scientific advice.
