Apitope Study
PATIENTS REQUIRED FOR A MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS CLINICAL TRIAL
ATX-MS-1467 is a new drug under development by Apitope Technology (Bristol) Ltd. as a potential new treatment for patients with Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis. We are currently seeking 18-55 year old male and female patients with Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis (RMS) to join in the trial currently underway in the UK.
Potential patients must also fall within the following criteria:
- Diagnosed with relapsing multiple sclerosis in the last 10 years
- Have had one relapse episode in the past 12 months or two relapses in the past 24 months.
- Have had no Multiple Sclerosis treatment in the last 3 months.
You will be compensated for all reasonable out of pocket expenses, including travel expenses.
A medical report will be obtained from your consultant and GP prior to any participation in this trial.

ATX-MS-1467
ATX-MS-1467 is an investigational peptide-based therapeutic designed to treat people with Multiple Sclerosis.

How does it work?
ATX-MS-1467 is an equal parts mixture of four synthetic peptides that mimic naturally occurring peptides derived from human Myelin Basic Protein, a key autoantigen in Multiple Sclerosis. ATX-MS-1467 is intended to selectively inhibit the immune system's harmful attack on the protective myelin sheath surrounding nerve cells while preserving the normal immune response to any harmful antigens, such as infections.
How is it given?
ATX-MS-1467 is injected under the skin (either intra-dermally or subcutaneously) once every two weeks.
Clinical studies
A small Phase I study in 6 people with Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis has been successfully completed with ATX-MS-1467.
A second Phase I study is now underway building on the results from the first study. This second study is in 40 people with relapsing forms of MS.
